Getting serious..

Surfing the Northern Beaches of Sydney leaves you wanting a lot of the time for quality waves. Not to sound ungrateful for being able to live right on some pretty beautiful beaches but flat spells for weeks at a time leaves the banks in a pretty ordinary state. This results in anything resembling swell turning into some pretty heavy shutdowns....with the occassional runner. This sort of wave requires a fast responsive board which holds high and tight.......

5'10'' x 19.5 x 2.35 Quad. Deep single concave, slight hip at front fins, lower rocker than standard thruster, more than traditional fishes. Fine rails and VERY foiled out nose to tail.......

FAST and LOOSE!

Played with the logo a bit..

Not that hard to glass....
Ready to go.

All done. Tried it for the first time this morning in some very fast closeouts and was surprised to get a turn or two in before getting shutdown. Really fast off the mark (Concave gradually gets deeper from the nose to deepest in front of fins) and gets in nice and clean, even with the mild nose rocker....Might like this one!!

Having another go...

5'11'' x 19.25 x 2.35

After making a bunch of quads in different configurations, I was getting a little sceptical about the validity of the design... Battails, rounded square and diamondtail shorties and of course Fishes (which do work a treat!!). I reverted back to my favourite roundtail shorty for a bit just to get a base and now gonna give it another try with a shortboard style quad again... Taken a bit of volume out of this one and gone a little shorter again as the other ones were feeling a little stiff. Still on the fish side of things but wanted to have something a little different to my everyday thruster...Its just shaped, we'll see how she goes...

Old School fun...

shaped..
Painted (with rocker shot)

Ready to wax and ride

My favourite Twin Keel. 5'8'' x 20.5 x 2.5 12 inches tip to tip.Single into double (in panel vee). Full, boxy rails with edge to nose. Universal Fin boxes hold small tip keels real good. (little bit of toe and cant). Glassed very light to keep it responsive. VERY fast and heaps of fun.

From just shaped to ready to ride..

5'10" QUAD FISH

One of, if not the funnest board I've made to date. 5'10'' x 19.75 x 2.4 Quad. Traditional fish template with shortboard rails and foiled out nose and tail. Rolled nose into light single into strong double from the front foot inside vee running off the wings. More rocker than your standard Keel fish....Fast and Loose.

Tools. I like the fact that crude hand tools can contribute to such an organic looking piece of work...
